Stardawg (also Stardog) has been a true constant in the UK cannabis scene for a good few years now, and it's easy to see why. The lovechild of two of the most beloved older style strains - Chemdawg #4 and Tres Dawg, Stardawg has already cemented its place as a top-shelf option both here and across the pond.
A real "first time you ever indulged" kind of hybrid weed strain, Stardawg is heavy on the giggles and easy on the eyes. Bringing that almost perfect mix of delicious, tangy, fruity, and dank, with a heavy dose of diesel, Stardawg is a one of those strains that almost everyone just gets on with.
But what makes Stardawg so special, and why is it such a staple in the UK market?
- The Grow - Stardawg is impressively easy to grow and can handle all the more common mistakes that new growers make while producing pretty ridiculous yields. It is very resilient to pests and mold and responds really well to both LST and HST training techniques.
- The High - The very slight sativa weed strain leaning high (60% sativa/40% indica) is perfect for those among us looking for an anytime-of-the-day strain, and be ready to get your laugh on. Giggles galore, and certainly a little more cerebral than sedative, but well balanced and a perfect afternoon cultivar.
- The Looks - The name "Stardawg" comes from the almost ludicrous amount of trichomes covering the plant, giving it a sparkling starry appearance. The buds are chunky and dense with a classic OG shape, but not as oversized as some of the other newer offerings.
- The Taste - After years of Cheese and Skunk dominating the UK market, Stardawg was an overdue breath of fresh air to the UK palate while still appealing to the masses. The lemony kick that begins proceedings is backed up by a strong gassy punch and mellows into a fruity sweetness.
